BEFORE THE SLEIGH. BEFORE THE REINDEER. BEFORE THE LEGEND.
In 1820, Nicholas Santa, his wife Jessica, and their son Jon abandon the known world for one impossible goal: reaching the North Pole. But when their guides vanish and an unnatural blizzard tears the family apart, Nicholas falls through the ice into a civilization no human was ever meant to find.
Beneath the Arctic lives an ancient race of elven whose technology can alter matter, command monstrous creatures, and send reindeer soaring across the sky. Their hidden world is also on the brink of war. A ruthless rebel named Jack has seized control, convinced that humanity is a disease destroying the planet. Nicholas is not merely an intruder. He may be the weapon Jack needs to wipe humankind away.
Separated from his family and subjected to a terrifying experiment that steals his memories, Nicholas must fight to preserve the man he was while becoming something the world has never seen. To save Jessica, Jon, and two civilizations, he will have to survive the frozen kingdom, challenge a tyrant with the power of winter itself, and discover why fate brought the Santa family to the top of the world.
Claus: Legend of the Fat Man is the first book in the Claus Universe, an epic reimagining of Santa Claus that blends historical adventure, science fiction, fantasy, dark humor, and Christmas mythology.
This is not the legend you remember.
The red suit comes later. First, he has to survive.
